Jalapeno Cucumber Herb Gimlet

My personal favorite!  The ideal mix of spicy, sweet, and sour; this hot and cool cocktail goes down oh-so-smooth, and pairs especially well with Mexican dishes.

Ingredients

  • 3 inch piece of Cucumber, peeled and thinly sliced

  • 10 Mint leaves

  • 20 Cilantro leaves

  • 10 Jalapeno slices, with or without seeds, based on heat preference

  • 2 Limes, juiced

  • 4 ounces Gin or Vodka

  • 1 to 2 ounces Agave Syrup

  • 1 cup Ice cubes

In a cocktail shaker, muddle the cucumber, mint, cilantro and jalapeno (reserving 2 of each for garnishes).  Add the lime juice, gin or vodka, agave syrup and a few ice cubes, shaking until combined.  Taste for flavor, and add additional agave syrup, if needed.  Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the drink into a pre-chilled or ice cube filled glass.  Garnish each glass with one piece of cucumber, mint, cilantro and jalapeno.  Enjoy the refreshing heat with someone you love!
